VALENTINE’S DAY – FEBRUARY 14TH

Having experienced this in 2016, we were not surprised that the ship scheduled a renewal of vows onboard performed by our Captain Andrea Spinardi.  The Pacific Princess Harmony Choir (composed of fellow passengers and led by onboard pianist/singer, David Crathorne), sang before the ceremony in addition to the Lado String Duo playing several violin melodies.  Afterwards, we had our photo taken with the Captain (who has since left us in Sydney and replaced by Captain Jon Paul Bryant, our Captain back in 2016).

We have since met two fellow passengers, Lou and Jennifer, who told as a remarkably romantic story.  Here goes.  Lou, retired and an RVer, embarked in Florida for the world cruise on January 5th.  Jennifer, also retired, likewise, embarked in Florida for the Panama Canal transit and had every intention of disembarking on January 20th when the ship arrived in Los Angeles and continued on the world cruise.

Princess sat all the solo/single passengers together for dining and that’s where Lou and Jennifer met.  They got along so well that by the time they arrived in Los Angeles, Jennifer and Lou decided to complete the world cruise together and, in a matter of a few days, Jennifer was able to take care of all of her necessary business back home, moved into Lou’s cabin as a second passenger, which he had already paid for anyway, obtained the necessary visas, paid for taxes and port fees, and they’re happily traveling as a couple around the world.

Amazing story.  I truly hope that all goes well; they’re a lovely couple and neither thought they’d ever meet anyone special.  I didn’t pry into their previous marital status but they look very happy together now.
